Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my twenty-something adventures and whims here. Hope you have a nice stay!

Welcome to H to the Second

Hello!

Welcome to my blog. To be honest, I have no idea what I am writing or how to summarize the purpose of this blog. But that’s a theme of my life at the age of 22: I have no idea what I’m doing. Weirdly enough, I’m okay with this. For anyone who knows me, it’s an obvious fact that I prefer to be in control with a clear game plan. And while I have somewhat of a plan, I also realize that being in my early twenties means that I’m changing as a person.

I recently read The Defining Decade, which taught me that you’re more malleable in your 20s than adolescence in terms of evolving as a person. With my recent college graduation, I’ve been able to reflect on who I was at 18 and the ways I’ve changed throughout college. I’m proud of the person I’ve become since I drove 700 miles for college four years ago, and I only hope that the changes I see in the next few years will only make me more proud of who I am, give me a greater sense of identity and meaning, and allow me to thrive in my life.

Journaling and documenting has been a hobby of mine since I was a child, but it was not until recently that I realized this. Signs I missed that indicated this hobby:

  1. It’s not normal for a first grader to start a memory box.
  2. Making memory and vision boards as a teenager with hundreds of photos with friends. At one point I had an entire wall of my bedroom with photos on it.
  3. The fact that I’ve journaled regularly for the past 7+ years.

Well I finally put all of these things together and realized that I love documenting things and then looking back on them. Which is why I started this blog - so I can work through my twenty-something issues by writing and expressing them, seeking advice from others, and hoping to provide guidance for others. This will also be a great way for me to reflect and capture snapshots of my life.

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned as I figure out what the hell it means to be an adult.
